I really don't get the hype.. repetitive, formulaic, lacking depth to the characters.. its fun to read at times but im losing interest in this series very quickly

This one is the funniest and best written of the series so far. Just great stuff. Love the character Dross. So funny!

I liked this one the most from the series until now. Finally the main character started to kick some ass and not be the lamest on the courtyard. There is more description of the world, no more constant fighting. There are a lot of fights but the fighting stops for brief moments and that is good. I was getting tired, I can't imagine how the characters kept fighting. On another note, many of the hard things in this book are like pushing a boulder up a hill or the author loves this analogy.

This book was a breath of fresh air after the fourth one, which was pretty underwhelming.
I think the only real complaint I have about the series as a whole so far is that a lot of Lindon's power advancement has been gifted to him rather than earned by him. I'm hoping that changes soon, given some of the context around his current level.
The greater plot is starting to piece together and it's looking truly epic.

Listened to this book via Audible narrated by Travis Baldree. This series continues to captivate me. This book felt slightly different than the previous ones as it takes place mainly in a pocket world. To me it felt like a really fun DnD campaign. Really liked the character developments of our main characters. I would have liked more from Eithan as he is the most interesting character to me and I really enjoy his character’s influence on the story. Regardless though I really enjoyed this book. Travis Baldree’s narration is what takes this book from a solid 4 to a 5. His narration is just excellent!

This book introduces the two best characters in the entire series and Lindon is finally able to advance to a comprable level compared to those around him. This might be the first book in the series where he wins a fight just using sacred arts
