As Conan must act like a kid in order not to raise suspicion, Dr. Agasa enrolls him in school, where we’re introduced to his adorable little group of friends. They invite him to an abandoned mansion, where Conan solves a years-long mystery. I really enjoyed the case of the irrefutable alibi and the new gadgets too. And among the several missing person cases and the bank robbery, the Black Syndicate is involved again! Conan has been trying to find them ever since they attacked and shrunk him in the last volume, so that he can reverse what they did and become his own age again. I LOVE this manga!!!

I love a good closed box mystery and this book has multiple of them. The syndicate story was especially well done! On the Viz Manga app you get a real sense of it being a scan, it has a real comics feel to the aesthetic. Instant nostalgia for a physical form I have never seen.

Some classic cases in this volume! A perfect alibi case that is incredibly fun to read as it pans out, Conan having to go to elementary school to keep his cover and thus beginning the Detective Boys cases and a Black Organization case that ends up being so very important for the series as a whole! These are some amazing cases in this volume that really showcase the characters involved personalities, a delight to read! Also the art style back at the beginning of the series is so endearing, I adore how expressive Conan is and how soft Ran is!

second volume of the hugely popular Detective Conan Series. I know it picks up later, but these first volumes seem weak compared to some of the later cases and arcs.
