I really loved this book until the church scene. I am healed from my religious trauma, but that doesn't mean I want to read a book with an unrealistic scene inside a church. It almost felt like the author is trying to redeem the church, redeem christianity altogether. I didn't like it. I thought if I could get past that scene the rest would be okay. But then in the next chapter, the other POV is recapping the church scene and is even more Christian-coded. I just didn't want to wait around while low-key being preached to and shown that Christians can be good people. Please, I don't need a Christian redemption arc.

Incredibly cute romance- loved the reality show basis, it was really sweet! I wish we would have seen character reactions to the whole thing having been founded on a tv show bit but besides that it was really enjoyable.

It was okay.

Fake dating is always a fun trope, but didn't pan out for me on this one. I didn't really jive with the writing and didn't really believe that the two fell in love. It felt rushed (and more just than the rush of the 6-week premise) and like it only scratched the surface. Good characters individually, though and great LGBTQ+ representation.

I loved the characters, the humor, and the audiobook narrator. I never fell in love with the reality show premise, and at times it was actually incredibly frustrating and almost made me DNF. I kept reading because the characters were so good.

interesting premise but it didn't really carry through. none of the characters were fleshed out or developed over the course of the story, and they seemed more like cardboard cutouts rather than actual people. the conflict was bland and uninteresting, and resolved with little to no detail. it was a fast read and would have been alot more interesting if the characters weren't all so boring, though.
