Oh my goodness. This book was BEAUTIFUL.

It was so tragic but as with most tragic things there was such beauty within it. The characters were so well fleshed out. Archers back story… every time they flashed back I was crying. Honestly I was crying for a lot of the book.. I think the message of this book about how everyone needs a friend and to give people a chance is such an important one. Archer is mute but people have isolated him his whole life and thought he was a freak just for being different. All that resulted in was a loss on their side because they didn’t get to know such a smart and determined person. His character progression was gorgeous and done so well. The innocence that Archer has is portrayed wonderfully. As a man who has grown up in one house without interacting with anyone but his uncle he has a lot to learn and figure out. And Mia wrote that exploration incredibly.

And then we have Bree. A girl looking for a distraction who ends up finding a home. The things she does for Archer and the way she brings him out of his shell, honestly what a human. Especially as she’s also in the process of trying to rediscover and heal after her own traumatic event.

The supporting, older members of town were also so fun to read about. The way both Archer and Bree came together with their mutual trauma and lack of family was so sad but also they were able to utilise all they’d been through to help each other. I’ve never met a book with so much trauma and heartache, that was also filled with such love and unwavering support.

This book was way more than romance. There was big family drama and mysteries, friendship. Small town drama. And a lot of beautiful lessons. The writing was stunning and honestly, I started this book before bed. It’s currently 4.15am and I am writing this review after reading the book in one very sleepless sitting. I could not put it down. Pacing isn’t even fast. But it’s just addictive and gripping. I was laying in bed sobbing. I loved it. And truly that’s the best thing I can say about it. Fate is a beautiful thing, and I think we could all stand to believe in it a little more.

BRB. I’m going to go and wish on a dandelion.

i am so confused
ive been waiting to read this for years and idk if its just because i had high expectations but this was such a let down, i liked some parts but overall the plot is all over the place and the way archer is treated at times is so infantilising
i literally hated the third act twist never mind the 3 pages where they make you think his died for some unknown reason
im glad ive read it because like now i know but glad it was on kindle unlimited and not something i actually bought :/

Archer and Bree's life stories are absolutely heartbreaking but their journey towards healing was beautiful, sad, and inspiring all in one. I couldn't put this book down. It consumed me wholly. 🥹 Sometimes all it takes is one person to see you and believe in you to change your entire world.

This book will make you laugh and cry and feel love for certain characters.  Not to give anything away but the characters have gone through so much in their past and they see themselves as broken.
One of the main characters are running away from the hardship thay they have experienced because they dont want to face it. And the other main characterhas kept themselvesin isolation, not wanting to be social and just wants to hide from everyone.
I would consider some aspects of the book quite relatable when it comes to self doubt and needing reassurance from the people you love and care about. But then it's so beautiful because it shows you that love has no bounds or limits. And that you shouldn't settle for less. And I think Mia Sheridan, author, really made that clear with her chatacyer development of Archer and Bree. (main characters)
Also you will get to a part of the book where you don't want to read it anymore. Like you will put the book down and say no. But trust me finish the book. It's so worth it.

This was legitimately one of the worst books I’ve read. I can understand why some people like it, but between the poor writing, the gross relationship, and the tropes, I just couldn’t get into it. I will say, Archer’s backstory was interesting, but Bree was very unlikeable. Their relationship gave me the ick. It felt like Bree was really taking advantage of an almost child like person. The author wrote Archer like he didn’t know anything about sex or relationships but this man learned everything through books and there’s no way he didn’t read on that. He almost seemed mentally stunted but he only had a physical disability. If the roles in the relationship were flipped, people would not be as into this book. I have a lot of thoughts, mostly bad, about this book. I often forgot I was reading about two twenty two/three year olds because the author had no idea how to write characters that were young in this day and age. Her depictions of a seven year old Archer read like a complete adult as well.
