I loved to travel back to Watership Down and to learn how the characters faired. And the extension on the lore was great.

A great follow up to the original novel! I liked the continuation stories more than the mythologies and legends, but enjoyed the whole thing. I wish there were a whole other book on the Watership Down rabbits.

good stories a keeper for sure, and i would def read again. but i love talking animals

Fun collection of short stories following the rabbits of watership down. Tall tales as well as adventures. Was very fun revisiting this world.

My favorite stories were The Three Cows and The Secret River. Also, I kinda loved the rabbit feminism.

This is a 3.5 for me. The book does not tell a consistent story, it is a compilation of stories centering around all the rabbits we have met in the first book. It was really nice to hear of them again and to learn a little bit more of their ways and fates and peaceful life after the events of the first book. A lot of the stories contain metaphors or parallels to human life that I found very interesting. Still, the constant death that took place in about 80% of the stories put me off a bit, as did the unbelievably bad writing style. A lot of words and phrases were repeated so often that it became annoying after some time. How many times per page can one use 'at last' and 'at length'?
I would recommend to read this if you have enjoyed the first book, but it cannot hold a candle to it, unfortunately.
