The second instalment of this chilling tale didn’t disappoint. I love the supporting characters so much, especially Mason ❤️ I’m hoping something blossoms between him and Kiera. I’m still a little miffed we didn’t learn anything more about ‘the company’ but I’m impatient so…

I hear there is going to be a 3rd book in this series which makes me happy. Although if this is part of a trilogy I hope that Keira has more of her old memories come back even if it's just how to deal with ghosts; although I would love to know more about who is chasing her and why.

If you like spooky ghost stories you'll definitely like this book.

The second in ‘The Gravekeeper’ series, I find Darcy Coates to be a comforting audiobook choice when you want something with elements of horror and strong character development that’s easy to follow.

We picked up on 36 hours after the ending of Book 1 (The Whispering Dead), with Keira trying to unravel the mystery of the appearance of a shade in the graveyard, a faceless spectre with no name on their grave. And so begins a deep dive into the mysteries of Blighty and the history of one, particular resident and his abandoned hunting cabin.

Unfortunately this book fell flat for me this time - I always like the character development that Coates provides and the paranormal element was interesting. We still know very little of Keira’s past, prior to her swift arrival in the town and, whilst this was touched upon, this was barely explored in this book - which ultimately I found more of a hook than the main narrative.

The narrative itself ties up well, and I wouldn’t be against reading a third book, but overall this wasn’t as entertaining as its predecessor.

Bummed I still don't have my answer about Daisy! Is she magic or not? I feel like she's for sure got some otherworldly powers just like her mom...wonder if we will for sure find out in book 3!

Just like book one, I loved the characters and their relationships. This one however; left me a bit baffled with the ghost at the hospital, did she want Keira to get caught, or was she trying to show Keira those people are doing something with the other spirits that linger at the hospital? Maybe we will find out in book 3.

This was good! I found the overall plot more interesting than the first book, now that characters and relationships are all established. Looking forward to the next in the series!
