I enjoyed this book! Not my favorite, but definitely a fun time.
Pros:
- The new mystery was interesting, and the ending caught me off guard, which is hard to do!
- This book genuinely made me laugh in certain scenes.
- As I said in my review for book 1, I personally don't think these books should be considered "horror". Perhaps "cozy horror", but mostly they are mystery books with some horror elements. I was able to enjoy that aspect of this book because I knew what I was getting into this time around.
Cons:
- Maybe it's because I just finished reading book 1, but it felt a bit repetitive at times.
- The protagonist made some frustrating choices in this one.
- There were some exposition scenes that felt really convenient and hand fed.
- There wasn't very much character development apart from one character that really surprised me towards the end.

Wow, friendship really is magic!
My 4th Darcy Coates book, my 4th five stars. I just want to live in her writing. I mean, I want to actually live in a cosy cottage in a graveyard. That is like my ultimate #goals. I already have the black cats, who may or may not be magical. Really, all cats are magical. I love this book.

3.5 stars. This was a solid second installment in the Gravekeeper series. Keira resolves to aid a faceless ghost in finding the afterlife, as well as removing a serial killer's ghost from the graveyard. She learns a little more about her past and the men chasing her, but not a lot. Mason, Zoe, and Reverend Adage (and of course, Daisy) play strong roles in this one.
I wish the final installment would be available sooner!

Cannot wait to read book 3 when it comes out next year. Really want to know more Keira's past life and who the people are she runs and hides from. In the meantime, I'll be reading the rest of the books the author has written as I'm enjoying them.
I really enjoyed the first in the series, and this sequel was consistent. I standby my initial evaluation of the vibe as the town from Gilmore girls but make it haunted. There are definite cliches in the relationships between characters (the wacky best friend Zoe, the will-they-won't-they hot guy Mason, etc.) but Coates leans into it in a pleasant way. I'll definitiely be adding the next book to my October horror reading list this year.
