I read this book mostly on the airplane yesterday. I enjoyed the characters and already bought others in the series.

Blighty seems like such a cute, quirky little town that I’d love to visit and ghost hunt. I could see myself becoming friends with this trio! I enjoy the banter between Kiera, Zoe, and Mason. Looking forward to find more out about Kiera’s past.

A great continuation in the series. I really enjoyed this one and flew through it.
Follow Kira and her new found family as they explore the secret past of their small town. Kira is still dealing with here uncertain past as she works with the ghosts of the town to help bring them closure.

so so good. this is the perfect series for spooky season! i’m obsessed.

So much better than the first one, super creepy.

"If you want to keep me safe, you'll need to find some way to save me from myself."

I am absolutely loving this series. I'm always excited when the second book is actually better than the first, because let's be honest, that's very rare. But "The Ravenous Dead" manages to both up the stakes and double down on the mildly cozy feeling (that I get, at least) from Keira's arrival in town.

This book also worked to show me just how good Darcy Coates is as a writer. There is a point in the book where Keira is trying to put some information together, and my mind immediately jumped to a seemingly throwaway scene/comment made in book one and I genuinely had an "OH MY GOD" moment. It takes a talented writer to either use that kind of foreshadowing, or to have the capacity to look at stories in hindsight and decide to use something. I'm now keeping so many random things saved in my mind because I'm desperate to see what comes into play later.

The humor from book one still continues here, and Zoe remains one of my absolute favorite characters. I love how we get these moments of levity among the literal horror story that is Keira's life. I love even more that Zoe isn't just there for comedic relief; she's actually got some purpose in this book, which is great.

And the possible slow-burn romance with Mason and Keira? Still there, still going, and watching Keira side-stepping him without even realize what she's doing really just still adds to the humor. This found family, small town setup is both cozy and eerie and it really does work well with the story.

The mystery also got better here. We learn just a smidge more about Keira's possible past, and the ghost problems are appropriately eerie and twisty and, again, had my jaw dropping. Maybe I just didn't pay much attention, but god I loved it.

I still don't feel I can give this a 5 star yet, but I did absolutely love it and I plan on reading the next book immediately.

Loved it just as much as the first one. So excited for the 3rd book!
