When a pending family holiday party pushes Nolan to come out to support his younger gay brother, it also pushes Nolan to take a chance on finding some romantic love himself. Who better to be his co conspirator and quasi-fake boyfriend than the gorgeous hookup currently occupying his bed? Surely, Nolan can find some “incentive” to get Skylar to be his date.

For me, this was a bit rough around the edges in execution and dialogue. There was a lot going on here that kinda left me spinning. However, I really enjoyed the brotherly vibes and for those who need plenty of smexy, this shortie does not shirk on the goodness. The dynamic between Nolan and Skylar was great and though things moved super fast, having Christmas just around the corner was good enough for me and apparently, good enough for these two to push them in the right direction! Cheers!

A wonderfully sweet holiday romance with the best big brother, a unique bromance and a somewhat sad reality for a former closeted teenager.

This story hooked my from the beginning, with the sexy introduction to Nolan and Skylar (aka Shimmer). Both come together after a one-night stand and find that their connection had grown. They are then thrown into Nolan’s unfortunate family drama. A plan is formed with the best intentions and hopes to bring Nolan’s family closer and have them accept Nolan’s and his brother Den’s sexualities. Unfortunately things don’t go as they hoped and a harsh reality is to be faced. With her writing, Kim was able to created a wonderful kinship and highlight the extending love between these brothers, their partners and their friends. Den’s life my have changed but he has the support of his brothers and an everlasting supply of love from those around him.

This story is short, sweet, sexy and real. I loved Skylar’s spunk and protectiveness and I loved ‘watching’ the buddying relationship bloom. The book left me with all the feels! A highly recommended holiday read!!

Thanks for reading 📚!

3.5/5. It was going to be 4 stars. but there were just too many characters for a 50 page short story. It got a bit crowded (by page 10 there were 13 people I counted). Cute though.

Delivers a complete story in under 50 pages!
I did enjoy, it is light despite the underlying hate arc - though the dad probably wouldn’t be happy whatever, very controlling.
Sky’s mum is the lovely counterpoint.

So I had some issues with this one. Firstly, there are a lot of characters thrown at you. At first I thought perhaps there was another book by this author that introduced the family, but no, nothing like that. Then we get a one night stand that turns into more, which, in actuality, is a plot I absolutely love. But it wasn't executed well here. Lots of messy family dynamics, lots of drama where the two MCs, Nolan and Skylar, sort of get lost. Also a fair amount of insta-loviness that I didn't buy. So sadly, this was not a Christmas winner for me.
