If you end up remembering more down the road, you go through what you need to go through. There is nothing wrong with feeling nothing. You feel what you need to feel, whether that's feeling nothing or everything.

Oh this book made me saaaad. I love JLA and I enjoyed the first two books but this one was so slow and (please forgive me) boring. I will read the last book, obviously, but other than the ending I feel like I could have skipped this one.

It has been awhile since I actually finished The Brightest Night but while I was able to keep reading other books I couldn't really get myself to review it. I usually only read backlist books so reading a newish book with cliffhanger wasn't something I was preparing myself for even if I should've.

This isn't the official cover for the hardcover book but I really love that fanmade purple one and I didn't find a cover for the signed hardcover I actually have.

I was exited to see Evie having scenes with side characters and we finally had Hunter content! I hate how they couldn't trust Evie though but thankfully now Luc trusted her completely. He didn't even hesitate like when her mother was around. I'm was glad to see Evie becoming a strong character who didn't need Luc protecting her or standing in front of her. She's no damsel in stress and she can keep people she loves safe as long as she doesn't loose herself.

All in all I don't think much happened until the ending? After being so exited when I finished the second book I just wasn't in love with the third one. And now I might need to wait years for the next book. This series means a lot more to me now that it did after the first book.

This book was super disappointing. I love JLA and usually her books are fast-paced and full of a mix of action with romance. However, this book was so boring. You could tell that it is just a filler book, so it could have been hundreds of pages shorter- I mean, a 500 page book of filler?! Come on. Plus, since the main characters are together in this book, there is no romantic tension to carry the story along. I gave it a 3 because I am a fan of the author and series as a whole, but it was probably more like a 2. I will probably read the next one since I can't leave the series like that, but am not super eager for it after this one.

We follow Luc, Evie and everyone else in another city, where they hide and struggle to find out more about Evie’s powers.

I was afraid that this book would be simple, the usual middle book, with no action, but thankfully I was wrong. There is action, love and friendship, and I can also affirm that this one is probably my favorite book in the trilogy. I could finally see more of Evie and Luc’s relationship, which I felt lacked a bit in the previous books.

One thing I almost hated, I literally kept wondering why she chose that way (unfortunately it’s a spoiler, so no words on this, but, if you have read it, please message me!).

Final Vote: 4/5
