I read this to see what the big deal was, and having finished it, I honestly still can't figure it out. It was poorly written, derivative of other (better) works, and the main character's whining was near intolerable at times. how have I not read this series before? (well i was two when this came out) this is the perfect book to get me into the fall spirit. it’s got vampires, angsty teens, and the perfect setting. the northwest is a picture perfect for this dramatic love story. i say love story loosely as im not sold on the romance. it’s all a little too insta-loving for me. charlie is the star of this show and i stand by that. vampire baseball is my favorite. the storyline of the vampire hunters was the best part of this
