I really enjoyed this book. I think Broader’s frankness around disordered eating habits and self love/mental health issues is needed in literature, to truly capture what it is like to experience these things. It’s raw, it’s graphic, but it is reality to many people. I wish I would have gotten a little more detail about Rachel’s mother, since the relationship was so toxic and effected her so deeply. We can still see its toxicity through the lack of contact between them in the book, but I guess it would have helped me understand Rachel a bit more since cutting out her mother was the catalyst for her healing.

I knew the general themes of book and it's more triggering concepts before I started it. Saying this, it took me a while to decide if I still wanted to continue reading book because of them.

If you have ever had an ED it might be very difficult to get through, there's a lot of calorie counting and weight obsession-but it is done in a really raw and authentic way, if you have never had disordered thoughts this could be an insight into that world. The pacing was a little rushed in the end but the conclusion was still good.

Very readable and entertaining but also dark and a bit alarming bc of what it portrays/reveals about women’s relationships with self, mother, other, etc. it seems innocuous but I think it will stay with me for a long time…
