Super quick, easy read. Nice for when you don’t have a ton of time to devote to a serious, thought-provoking book.
So I got this from OUABC sweet Halloween box. And it was an OK read, I didn’t love it I didn’t hate it. It was just a cozy mystery nothing too amazing. It was obvious that it was a later book in the series, I think it is #3. The characters were fine, the mystery was fine. It was a solid cozy.

15 Minutes of Flame is the 3rd novel in A Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery series. It can be read as a standalone for those new to the series. Christin Brecher upped her game with 15 Minutes of Flame. Stella Wright owns Wick & Flame on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts. It is interesting learning about unique candles and how to make them in each book. This time Stella teaches the Candleers how to make clock candles. I enjoyed the word imagery describing Nantucket Island especially the Morton house. I can understand why Stella loves the beautiful old home. Stella is a likeable and relatable protagonist. She is a clever, friendly, kind, and brave. Stella stands up for herself and her friends. She is quick to notice details and discern clues. Stella also has a knack for getting people to talk which is helpful in her investigations. There are a variety of quirky characters including Old Holly, Agnes, Jameson Bellows, and Brenda Worthington. The mystery was fascinating. I like how the modern mystery weaves effortlessly with the historical one. There were a variety of suspicious suspects. There are some great twists as well. It was fun following Stella as she worked to solve the two whodunits. Who does not love a mystery that involves a treasure map? There was a good wrap up of both mysteries with the exception of one little detail (I cannot say because it would be a spoiler). The ending was satisfying and just what I had hoped would happen. 15 Minutes of Flame is my favorite book so far in this series. I am eager for Stella’s next adventure. 15 Minutes of Flame is a delightful whodunit with clock candles, scary skeletons, a tumbling tree, a missing map, creepy cobwebs, and a curious candlemaker.
4/5 stars
I received 15 Minutes of Flame through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
15 Minutes of Flame is the third installment of the Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery series, but the first in the series that I have read. In this installment we meet Stella, a candle maker on Nantucket who has a knack for solving crimes. Stella stumbles upon a skeleton buried in the wall and on the search to find answers, a current day Murder occurs. On the trail of solving two different murders, one from past and one from present, Stella takes us on a fun and entertaining adventure. Set in the fall, around Halloween, this cozy mystery gives you the perfect amount of spook to get you in the mood for the season.
Even though this is already an established series, I still loved it and felt like I knew the characters coming in. I really enjoyed the characters and the mystery itself. There really wasn’t much I didn’t enjoy about this book and I look forward to going back and reading the rest of the Nantucket Candle Maker series. I definitely recommend reading this well written cozy mystery even if you haven’t read any other installation in this series.

15 MINUTES OF FLAME by Christin Brecher
The Third Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery
Stella Wright has arranged for the girl scouts to use the old Morton House as the site of their haunted house fundraiser. Stella is excited upon discovering its outbuilding was once a chandlery, but as she pries the candle sign off the wall she makes a more gruesome discovery-a skeleton. Her friend, Agnes, identifies the skeleton and tells the scandalous tale from her family's past, a story of best friends, a robbery, and betrayal of the town. The search for a second skeleton leads not only to its discovery, but a fresh murder. Will solving the mystery from the past lead to today's killer?
Autumn has come to Nantucket and with it the chills that surround Halloween, cooler temperatures and skeletons! I really like Stella, Tinker, the Candleers, well, just about everybody in the Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery series. These unique characters vibrate with life and their distinct personalities make you feel as if you're a part of their community.
I love how candles play an integral part of life, the lives of the people of eighteenth century Nantucket, and today's customers, buying candles in fanciful shapes (yes, I want a Tinker special, though I'd never burn it!), to set a scene, and ultimately to catch a killer. I really appreciate how the past and the present intermingle. I enjoyed both mysteries, but I especially loved how Stella was able to figure out the historic mystery by realizing that some things never change. As for how the killer was finally caught-absolutely brilliant!
15 MINUTES OF FLAME is a fast paced novel that combines a historical scandal and a modern day murder to create an exciting Halloween read.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I would have given it four stars, however, the amount of typos in the book made it difficult to read at some parts and I found myself needing to re-read some sentences and paragraphs multiple times. Hopefully with more recent releases of the book those typos will be corrected.
This cozy mystery is set in Nantucket, MA. Typically I am weary about reading stories that are set in very specific, unique locations as authors tend to generalize the location. Brecher lives in Nantucket and did a wonderful job writing about it's uniqueness in this story. It felt as though the characters really lived and interacted in Nantucket as opposed to mentioning that the characters live there but really they could live any place and it wouldn't matter to the plot of the story. 15 Minutes of Flame is the third book in the Nantucket Candle Mystery Series. I did not read the other two books prior to reading this book, however, I was able to quickly pick up who the characters were and the relationships they had between each other. I did not feel as though I was missing any information from the previous books in order to enjoy this one. What was really special about this book were the many twists and turns the story took. I LOVE a good "who done it" and enjoy playing along and figuring out who the murderer is. This book had so many clues and ah-ha moments that continued to prove my theories wrong. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy Halloween, Mysteries, Murders, and Ghost Stories.

I liked it. Nice solid mystery. I didn't guess who "did it" so that's a plus. Interesting information about nantucket.
This cozy was perfect for getting me in the mood for Halloween! The author’s third (and final so far) book of the series and I hope there will be more Stella adventures to come. Adorable town, characters and plot. My only request? Stella end up with Andy. They are perfect for each other - who agrees?
"15 Minutes of Flame" the 3rd Instalment in the Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery series by Christin Brecher. I was super excited to receive an advanced copy as I love this series and I wasn’t disappointed as this was even better than the last!
I really enjoyed this instalment in the series and visiting Nantucket again.
The Protagonist Stella is well developed, likeable and I loved her friendships with the folks in town. Another favourite of mine is Tinker the cat (my first cat was named Tinker as well) who was part of this instalment too. I liked the addition of Clemmie the barista and how she played a role in the story.
I found that the story was well paced and I couldn’t put the book down as I wanted to know who the killer was. The description of the setting and crime scenes are strong and really drew me in. The ending was good and I didn’t guess the killer till Stella did.
We didn’t see as much candle making in this story but there are instructions for making your own candle clock at the back along with Clan Chowder recipe.
Highly recommended to all my cozy friends! I really hope there will be a book 4 soon!
I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Kensington and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my OWN
