This was my first cozy mystery and I didn't really know what to expect from it. I saw the pun, the cat, and Halloween decorations on the cover and didn't know if I was in a for a super cheesy ride. I was pleasantly surprised. This particular book covered two different mysteries: one involving the skeletons of people from the distant past and one involving a murder that happens during the investigation of these skeletons. I hate when I can guess who the murderer is early on in the book. So, I was happy that this one kept me guessing. Throughout, there were multiple suspects with many different motives. I also love the Nantucket town this was set in and that our main character owns a candle shop. I know this isn't the first in the series. However, it is my introduction to it and it got me interested in reading more of it just to continue getting to know the town and some of its characters. My first cozy mystery was definitely a success!

An excellent addition to this excellent series.
I was happy to meet again the well thought characters, to travel to the Nantucket and to be kept guessing till the end.
The mystery is solid and the plot well crafted.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

Someday i'll get to visit Nantucket for real. For now, i'll settle for "visiting" the island via Christin Brecher's Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery Series!
15 Minutes of Flame is the third book in the series (and my second read - I still need to read the first book...). I was so excited to pick this up because it's set near Halloween. You see, it's been incredibly hot here in my state for a few weeks, and i'm aching for a cool fall breeze, pumpkin everything and spooky vibes. This fit the bill - complete with 150-year-old skeletons, ghosts (!?), a spooky old house and a murder to top it off.
There were some laugh out loud moments in this book (just get to the part where our heroine starts doing shots to get information from a suspect...) and the historical aspect of the story was a fun little touch.
Thank you Kensington Books for providing me with a NetGalley ARC of 15 Minutes of Flame!

The mystery is great and not predictable so I loved that. Didn't really love the style of writing in places, bits seems slightly forced or like they didn't quite flow well, which may be partly because I haven't read the first two. Still read the book in less than 24 hours so it's good for some escapism.
