This is how you write a YA mystery!!

Did a buddy read with Spencer he also gave it four stars.

4.5 ⭐️

This has to be my favourite book by the author so far!

The book kept me hooked throughout and I couldn't stop turning the pages late into the night trying to figure out the mystery and failing horribly.

Dual POVs helped keep the story interesting with different perspectives, shady characters doing shady things kept the mystery alive throughout the story!

The plot-twists were REALLY good and I never saw them coming despite using 200% of my brain trying to come up with possible murderers.

Overall a good YA thriller to keep you hooked!

McManus does it again! Her writing has a way of keeping me guessing at all the twists coming down the line - I can normally pick out most of them, but once again, one slipped by and surprised me this time.

I love the way she is able to write geared for YA in a way that adult readers can connect with, and not feel strange reading stories about high schoolers.

AND THE MAEVE ROJAS (á la One Of Us is Lying) NOD? Impeccable.

Absolutely amazing! Karen never fails when it comes to her writing and this book was just another perfect read that I couldn’t put down!

BORINGGGGGG

Karen M. McManus has one template she uses for all of her books. Some characters are literally unrecognisable from the ones in One of us is lying. She can’t for the life of her come up with anything original.

The plot was too complicated and the real murderer was painfully obvious from the start. I did not care about a single character and was only praying for it to be over.

Considering I didn't even seek out to buy this book and it was the lady at the register of Barnes and Noble offering me a deal - I'm impressed. I really enjoyed this read and the best part is I didn't even see the twists and turns coming all throughout! Highly recommend.
