Read this in one day, I couldn’t put it down and wanted to see what happened!
I love Karen’s book as I never see the plot twists coming.
I was so very happy when there was mention of her other books characters to find out that they are in the same universe! So very exciting and I can’t wait to see what book she comes out with next.
Brynn and Tripp were the best, I enjoyed have a main character that wasn’t involved in finding the body and from the journalistic/favorite teacher point of view.

Gave it until 50% did not find it enjoyable or good. Reminded me a little of Ace of Spades but that did it so much better.

Anyway, i love these books because I can always count on Karen to deliver with entertaining mysteries for a novice thriller reader like me. I love plot twists and being shocked by new developments, but I’m still a little bit of a scaredy cat, so her books are perfect for me. This one was no exception. I really liked the main characters, especially Tripp he kinda cute fr. The mystery was engaging enough. I kept thinking of every possible storyline, but still I was off. It’s frustrating when I’m wrong, but I gotta say I love when I don’t see it coming.
I do wish, however, that the discovery was a bit more shocking and high-stakes. It seemed a bit tame and anti-climactic, but i wanted the juice! The tea! And it was slightly missing from this book. Maybe my expectations were too high. Everything kind of wraps up very quickly and abruptly, but its ok.
Overall, another solid installment to add to the Karen M. McManus lore. It was also fun to see mentions of ‘You’ll be the death of me’, ‘Two can keep a secret’, and ‘One of us is lying’. Can’t wait for her next release.
