This book is the one that got me hooked on Beverly Jenkins
To me Ms. Jenkins has another amazing read on her hands. A wonderful story with history and romance intertwined into one phenomenal story. Not only were there surprises throughout, I could feel the love and desire between Drake and Valinda. This was such a good read and so far I am enjoying this new well written series. Can't wait for the next book to be released.

Valinda and Drake are wonderful characters, who have a playful chemistry. I truly enjoy seeing how open they are with each other. I can easily imagine them having an incredible life together.
So cute. I wish I read the LeVeq series before this one so I could have known more of the characters.
i liked the couple and i loved the setting -- i've been interested in reconstruction since high school and it's really clear that beverly jenkins did her research before writing this
