I received on ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a super sweet novella. I'm not really all that into novellas (I much prefer massive novels) but I enjoyed this!
Brooke is a singer with auditory processing issues, which I thought were done well. She returns to her family home for Christmas. Nicole is her childhood friend, who owns a bakery in town has had a string of women leave her. Since they both think Brooke is leaving again after the holidays, she tries not to get too involved.
I enjoyed both characters and their romance! Both where good individually and as a couple. The side characters were also good. Another sweet novella from Lily!

This was a cute and sweet childhood friends to lovers romance. The residents of Mountain Crossing were silly and fun, but the matchmaking shenanigans of every person got a bit old. I didn't need everyone saying variations of "there's a queer girl in town, you should marry her" quite so many times. The pacing overall was on the slower side, but the story was enjoyable. This was a cozy little Christmas read.
Thank you Charlotte for the author recommendation! #TransRightsReadathon
Content warnings from author: open-door sex scenes, queer girls trying their best not to get together, loving family who are really obvious in their attempts to get them together, and Daniel always talking about food.

Honestly, I struggled with this book. There was nothing awfully wrong with it apart from that fact that I just couldn't connect with it. Some parts were well written and other parts just lacked the finesse I look for in books.
it was a little repetitive and boring. overall, it just wasn't my style, butnit might be yours! give it a go!

I mean, we finally got a lesbian Hallmark movie (in book form), so gay rights, I guess.
On that note, this was exactly the level of a Hallmark Christmas movie. The two leads were so similar that I couldn't tell their narrations apart, and all of the conflict is super cheesy and fluffy and intricately linked to snowy winter holidays. On that note, this is a lighthearted sapphic book that would be a perfect read for Christmastime. I finished it in one night.

Very cute romance between two former childhood friends. The aura of inevitability surrounding the two, with everyone in the town pushing them together, didn't work quite as well for me, but there were still plenty of cute factors between them.
So Sweet!
This was the perfect small town Christmas romance! I love how the whole town shipped the two of them together!
