  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
I'm scared I'm unwell and I'm lowkey scared of spirals.
The lost chapter didn't bring the same fear factor but 'the completion' as the ultimate finale made up for that.
it's going to absolutely haunt me that we never know the origin of the spiral. And the snail people will haunt me too because why would Junji Ito do that?????

Don't get me wrong. I still thought it was interesting, but like. It really let me down. The story just became goofier and goofier, and that ending had me shaking my head. Who knows, maybe there's something more to it that I didn't catch on to (like something that Junji Ito includes in all his works, perhaps), but if there was, it went way over my head, lol.

That doesn't mean I won't try out other stories of his, though! I'm just super disappointed in how this one ended.
