If you have read my reviews of Touched by an Alien and Alien Tango, then you are probably aware of my obsession with this series. It is easily one of my favorites of all-time and Kitty is hands down, my favorite narrator.

With the first two books in the series, Koch has set the bar amazingly high and Alien In The Family certainly doesn't let you down. I will try my best to refrain from including spoilers for the first two books, but please be warned, some minor details may be touched on.

In Alien in the Family, all of our favorite characters are back and simply as wonderful as ever. Kitty and Martini are still going strong and all of Kitty's boys are back in the game. Christopher takes more of a side role in the third installment, while Reader is given more screen-time, so to speak.

Kitty is, as always, spunky, sarcastic and incredibly fun. Like I said before, she is probably my favorite book narrator, because she is such a spitball. She has a no-nonsense attitude, she doesn't take crap from anybody, has phenomenal taste in music and will not change for anyone. Honestly, if you haven't read this series before, I encourage you to go back and read my reviews for the first two books - I describe the cast of characters in great detail.

As far as plot goes, it's the format that we've come to expect and love with these books. There is some crazy world-dominating plot going on that Kitty and the boys have to investigate. As always, there are multiple plans going on and they have to wade through everything to determine what is exactly happening. This time, our cast is faced with a variety of aliens, including a planet of lesbian amazons who are determined to bring their galactic war to earth.

While all of this is happening, Jeff and Kitty are trying to plan their wedding. This means we get to meet some new characters, including Kitty's extended family. In Alien Tango, we were introduced to Jeff's family and believe me, Kitty's is just as crazy. I am particularly fond of her Nana Sadie and Nona Marie.

Kitty and Jeff are rarely separated in Alien in the Family, so we are treated to tons of wonderful moments between the two. I have always been a fan of their banter, and there is an abundance of it here. We are also given a number of scenes between Reader and Kitty; their relationship is really explored in this installment. I have always been a fan of their friendship; Reader just gets Kitty.

I am going to wrap this up, because I don't want to get into too many series spoilers, but believe me, Alien in the Family is a great installment to the series. On a final note, I desperately want a poof - which is the official royal pet of the A-C royal family. Trust me, you will want one too!

As always, a fun, funny, action pack and romantic story, filled with crazy adventures, crazy villains, and royal surprises.

As always, Kitty is extremely awesome, Jeff is protective, jealous, and hot, Reader needs to turn straight, ACE is adorable, Chuckie is much more likable, and many many more...

The most mention-worthy addition to the cast in this book is the Poofs, also known as The Cutest and Most Useful/Adorable Pet In The Universe, SQUEE!

The second is MJO, AKA Mister Joel Oliver, a reporter who starts stalking the gang.

The most interesting part about this book is probably the whole new aspects of Hybrids we find out. It comes as a surprise the first time I read the book, but an intriguing one. Another awesome part was finding out about all the different planets in the AC system, and where the ACs come from. They were all kind of crazy and cool.

And ~sigh~ their wedding and all that ensued. So sweet.
Then there was that ending. *squee* so happy for these two!

Published on my blog: Welcome to Larissa's Bookish Life

*Contains MINOR SPOILERS for the previous books in the series.

Kitty, Martini and the whole gang are back with a vengeance and Gini does the seemingly impossible, by delivering a third book in a series that leaves nothing to be desired when put up against the previous installments. We all know how hard it is for a series to be consistently amazing, book after book, capturing our attention and hearts with every single one that the author puts out. If someone has the knack of accomplishing that task, in spades, that person is Gini Koch!

It has been an year since Kitty’ world was turned upside down. One simple year since she killed a super being with a Mont-Blanc pen and found out that Aliens have been living inconspicuously amongst humans for a long time. A lot has happened since then, Fuglies has been constantly attacking, political maneuvers are all around, killer alligators, sentient beings, her boyfriend’s not-so-friendly mother, interplanetary biggots and so much more…

In Alien in the Family Kitty and Martini are finally planning their wedding, but it’s not all that easy as being in love. There are a lot of people that don’t want this wedding to happen and they will do whatever it takes to keep these two apart.

I LOVED Alien in the Family! Gini has created such an amazing world that so fascinating and fun that I can’t help but being completely obsessed with it. Kitty is the ultimate kick-ass heroine! She is fun, smart, sexy, hilarious, quirky and doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty when the need arises. She is also fiercely loyal to her people and that makes her absolutely ruthless when she knows they are in danger.

SO much happens in Alien in the Family, but it feels so natural that I guarantee you’ll devour this incredible novel in just a few hours. I really tried to pace myself, at least a little bit, just so I could enjoy the book more. However, I found that to be impossible when it comes to Martini, Reader, Kitty, Chuckie, Christopher and every single one of the superb characters that bring this series to life.

Alien in the Family has a little bit of goodness for everyone. A lot of Kitty and Martini, Kitty and Reader, Kitty and Chuckie, awesone new characters, action packed and full of heart. Oh, and there are also The Poofs {It’s all about the Poofs, baby!}, the perfect package for any fan of Kitty’s adventures. Gini has done it again and brought us another deliciously succulent installment of a series that I hope will be around for many more books to come. If you haven’t read this series yet, I absolutely advise you to pick up Touched by an Alien and Alien Tango as soon as possible, I promise you won’t regret it for a second!

Wish fulfillment, my but can't any other woman do what Kitty can. Still a half way fun story though

A bit too overly long, but an interesting story overall. Jeff toning down his jealousy was good, and the ending has me curious to see what will happen to him and Kitty next.

Fun read, but still have problems with the amount people listen to her. It went beyond what my suspension of disbelief could really cover, but it was a fun enough read.

I had a fun time reading this book because it was fluffy and lighthearted. The thing is though it's not well written and the plot is kind of flimsy. Jeff is outed as a direct descendant of the AC royal line and interstellar politics come knocking on Earth's door. The cast of lovable but quirky side characters grows exponentially and now with bonus pets!

I read this in a day! I am in love with all the characters in this series, they are so brilliantly described and this book in particular made me cry a few times! The ending was beautiful and I can't believe I now have to wait until December to find out what else is going to happen to my team!!! Ahhh! :)
