I didn't love EVERY poem and Idk if I'd be like YO you gotta read this but I liked it. I can tell a lot of heart, soul, and pain went into this. I hope for healing for her and I thank her for her vulnerability in sharing. I cannot imagine what she's been through. She didn't deserve anything that happened to her, no one does. The poems are heartbreaking and also nothing new (unfortunately). I don't mean this in a negative way ofc, I mean that it's unacceptable and disgusting that this is a tired experience for so many women. I think if you have experienced SA and or DV, this book may be as cathartic for you as I'm sure it was for her to write. I do not have those experiences and I understand that I can never truly understand, which is why I'm hiding my review (it's just for me to look back on)

Look, I’m happy for her that writing these was cathartic but…these felt like edgy MySpace blog posts from 2008 to me.
