homophobic stereotypes, internalised misogyny, predatory men, not-so-subtle racism, derogatory comments towards the homeless... [slaps cover of book] this baby's got it all!

I think this installment might be the best one so far. It has the most complex storyline, and gives you a sense that there's a lot more to come.

I definitely don't agree with the choices that Zoey makes in this one-she screws up in a big way. However, at the same time, I realize that this is (in a sense) a "coming of a age" story, and it's good to have a heroine that isn't perfect, because it's easier for readers to relate to her that way. Also, you have to make mistakes in order to grow from them, which must mean that Zoey is truly going to be a "goddess" once she cleans up her messes and learns how to keep herself from making them in the first place.

Overall, not liking the character of Zoey as much, but at the same time, I'm feel that the series is getting to be much more interesting and complex. I'm definitely picking up Untamed!

Und der Plot ist all over the place.

I remember reading this as a teenager and being weirded out by the Zoey- Loren relationship and it reads even worse now. Straight up grooming behavior. Also, this entire series has taken place in about 2 months. These friendships are hellishly surface-level. The characters feel like plot devices with no concrete personalities that change on a whim (especially Neferet).

Bruh. Loren grooms Zoey, is her first sexual partner, imprints with her, and dies all in the span of an evening...
