This is an interesting book. There was a lot of suspenseful moments but the end was wrapped up a little too conveinantly.
Two of the MCs were WOC and their situation was handled exactly like the white FMCs even though we know it would be a lot different.
It was def giving white feminism, it's main focus was much more strong female friendships with I can get behind but I wish it was more intersectional.

New author to me and one I would happily read other books from. This was not necessarily something I would normally choose for myself due to the subject and genre. Having said that I did find myself wanting to keep reading on to see what would happen next.
I appreciated the authors note at the start with the trigger warning. I struggle to read about sexual abuse, but decided to give it a go. The magic/curse aspect helped me stop seeing the story as a reality enabling me to keep reading. The book does go into detail about what happened with each character, however its only a brief parts (a page or two per character) with the main focusing on the aftermath.
Rounded up my review to a 4⭐️ but if possible I would have scored a 3.5 due to the theme of abuse.
