3.75⭐️ Much slower paced compared to the first book. I liked some parts throughout and the ending but I wish the plot didn’t meander so much. I’ve already known how the end game will play out but still interested to read the final book.

So for me the sequel was much more of a success. I was enjoying it in the beginning but the more I read the more I liked it.

Loved being back with the characters and I was honestly happy my favs were having more parts in the history. Also loved the new characters specially well...

I'm still trying to understand this one character to a point I can hate them since Im not sure what they wanna do... cant wait to see more of them honestly

I was also more engaged with the plot and the reveals even tho for me this is a very slow paced story, and I want to see what is gonna happen in the end.

“That weird sticky bitch” will be something that I reference for the rest of my adult life.

3.5 stars

The start felt a little slow. The characters feel a tad one dimensional, but the plot is excellent and the world-building is very unique.

FUCK.

I AM CRYING.

This one took me a really long time to finish but not because it was bad but because I had other book commitments at the time. I will say it did have a slower/ harder start but I am not sure if that is solely due to the fact that I took a very long time to read this book after reading the first one. I had to sort of figure out where the first one left off before I could really get invested into this but Williams did a good job at laying a foundation to the previous book. I think it could've been done just a bit better but I do think it is partially my fault for waiting so long between books. I will be immediately picking up the third one as the action in this one was incredible and I need to know where the next book goes. This probably isn't going to be in my top series of all time, however, the world-building in this is some of the most unique and intriguing I have ever read. This one had a lot of backstory for the world which I wasn't expecting but really loved. During the action scenes, my heart was racing, and nervous for the characters. I think Williams did a great job at keeping all of her plot threads engaging while going back and forth between characters in different places in the world. I think this really expanded on what was started in the first book and I am excited to see where the last one goes.
