Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of Gudetama: Mindfulness for the Lazy!

This was the first Gudetama comic I have read, and I enjoyed it! I thought the artwork was cute, colourful and not too overpowering.
I enjoyed the messages learnt from this graphic novel, and especially liked the simple and easy to relate to examples.
A couple of my favourite parts include the ‘what is empathy?’ and ‘what is sympathy?’ section as well as the genius flow chart you can use to decide whether or not you should reply to a message. This flow chart instantly made me think of one of my students who sometimes receives messages on their social media and struggles with what to do. I will FOR SURE be showing her this flowchart, and am going to request a hard copy of this graphic novel for her use.

I will defiantly consider using this novel in a classroom setting as I think it would be really beneficial to my students.

Short review for a short read.

This graphic novel consists of engaging art and easy dialogue. If I could think of one word to describe this, it would be: CUTE.

This is something I'd definitely recommend to teens and adults.

Thank you to the publisher for giving me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

GUDETAMA IS BACKKK! I love Gudetama I think the whole egg concept is so freaking hilarious and enjoyable, I literally watched all the anime episodes on this little bug, so I just simply had to read the comic about him.
The comic was so so fun! It didn't only follow Gudetama but also the people around him and the situations Gudetama found himself in. I absolutely love the art style, especially Gudetama himself just keeps getting more and more adorable the longer you look at him.
The overal story of this comic is very good and keeps its pace throughout the whole comic, there is never a dull moment that I can think of and there is always something to be excited about.

Definitely recommend

* I received this as a free eARC from netgalley. All reviews are honest and my own. *

I’ve always been a little obsessed with sanrio - as a child, it was hello kitty and my melody. Now, I seem to have gravitated towards gudetama. There is just something a lazy egg who loves naps that is so relatable!

Gudetama: Mindfulness for the Lazy is absolutely a self-help sort of book, a how-to guide for mindfulness. This could have been super boring, but the artwork is colourful and engaging and there were intertwining storylines that made it much more enjoyable to read.

Plus, when Wook-Jin Clark said ‘mindfulness for the lazy’, he meant it. There’s no big reveal or secret truth about mindfulness, nothing that requires more that a couple of seconds and some forethought to implement. All of these steps are simple and clear cut.

This was an informative read in an enjoyable format, and I really recommend this to anyone who is looking to learn more about mindfulness, loves Gudetama, or is just looking for a fun read.

I'm trying not to request any more new books from Netgalley until I finish my existing TBR pile, but this looked too cute to resist! What a vibrant and adorable cover, and same goes for the cute illustrations. A quick and simple read, this book shares some key values of mindfulness such as living in the present, treating others how you want to be treated, being sympathetic and showing up for others.

I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
