Overall, this one felt overhyped. I read it back when it first came out, and I was excited because I thought it would be a new omegaverse that's traditionally published. So far, every omegaverse that I've read has been indie-published. So I was excited for it. However, this is more of a shifter's book than an omegaverse. To me, omegaverse is like they don't shift, and you have alphas, betas, and omegas, and they tend to have extra senses like scents that draw people to one another. So I thought it would be different, but it was alright. I like shifters and stuff like this; however, this one leaned too hard on the miscommunication between Mackenzie and Noah. I wish they had more issues or focused more on fake dating because that had a lot of fun drama. It's a good book if you're starting to get into this genre and like things on the lighter side, but it wasn't for me. Plus, it's a cute cover.

I considered rating this one lower but ultimately decided it was worth the full 5 stars. Is it classical literature full of fantastical prose? No, it’s 2 wolf shifters doing it (but no doing it as wolves so it’s safe there). Is there a 3rd act breakup and annoying lack of communication? Yes, and I didn’t love that. However, the overall book made me kick my feet and want to keep reading these characters, so this is a 5 star rating from the heart, not my head.

If you’re not into omegaverse, DO NOT read this book.

I didn’t see the content warnings when I got this book nor did I know this was a werewolf book either (sadly the title did aloude me). Because of that I had to skip a lot of the book because of it. Other all the plot was meh. It could’ve been better if there was less wolf stuff.

Cute grumpy/sunshine couple I love to root for. Fun Omegaverse shenanigans and spicy sex scenes. Easy happy ending. Strong-willed female protagonist.
What's not to like, especially after a long reading slump?

I don't know if I can say with full confidence that Mackenzie and Noah had any chemistry. It felt as if it was just physical so the lovey dovey romance wasn't really there.

There were a lot of cringey moments which I admit I love sometimes but I didn't particularly care for them this time. I think it was harder to look past it when the characters weren't as lovable.
