Don’t judge a book by its cover…
I had no clue what this book was about. It’s about shifter doctors…they are wolves! Who knew?
Was I into it?
Yeah, maybe I’m into shifter romance now🤷🏻‍♀️
This was the second book I’ve read by this Author and I liked it so much more than The Nanny.

Full disclosure: this wasn’t what I was expecting when I picked up this book, but it was actually really fun and I can’t imagine it going over as well if anyone else had written it.

Lana Ferguson’s characters were adorable and I wanted them to end up happy because they’re excellent as a grumpy/sunshine pair and as individual people. They’re funny and sweet in their own ways, and I liked that both were competent doctors doing their thing without demeaning or demoralizing the other for their respective fields or competencies. The power balance could have been so off, but the vibe was never gross or creepy.

Also: there’s no miscommunication! All of the “drama” and the breakup that happens in every romance novel comes from external factors encouraging things to happen in a certain way. I love a book that illustrates a healthy (to a degree) relationship that wants to have difficult conversations because they actually care. This is what more romance books should be!

Overall, it was a fun read with a surprising number of spicy scenes. There were some amazing one-liners in there that had me cackling, and I liked the portrayal of side characters who maybe weren’t entirely fleshed out, but were obviously there for more than just plot progression. It’s definitely worth the read.
