You know how sometimes a series gets slow in the middle and you just kind of have to slog through to the next book for the action?
NOT THE CASE HERE, MY FRIENDS. Nicole gave us tender moments, thoughtful moments, angsty and tense and tearful moments, action packed moments, and sweet romantic moments. There's a little bit of everything in this book and each element hits the spot just right. I don't know how it's possible to nail each emotion and part of this story but it's been done.
This is truly one of the best books I've ever read. It's heartfelt and emotional and has helped me through some hard mental stages; i can see myself in Ophelia so much and it makes me feel like I too can overcome the bad things and come out stronger on the other side. She is such a special character and she means so much to my sad little heart.
The side characters shine; Cyph in particular is an absolute gem in this book and I enjoyed that we still followed the main 2 POVs and didn't lose their stories at all, but got to explore much more about the other characters. New ones were added and felt natural.
It was all just so well done. I find it hard to describe how much this book meant to me when I read it the first time, but the crying selfies Nicole received might be a hint. Thank you to Nicole for allowing me to read early copies of this book, and for creating a story that allows me to feel seen and supported and lifted up. It's such a gift.

”Infinitely mine”
TSOO is Nicole’s second book and is book two in the series. I got too arc read both book one and now two, that releases on August 22, AND I HIGHLY Recommend you start this series!!!
Wow! I’m so so happy to be back in this universe 😍 I feel like I’m among family reading these books!
Are you a romantasy fan??? Look no further, we have a INCREDIBLY sweet, gorgeous and FUNNY love interest, worthy of your swooning, a romance I can’t wait to see more of and how it will develop. The slow burn is there but it’s SOOOOO worth the wait and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book and read more about it.
Some of my favorite tropes in this book were:
> BADASS FMC
> Found family
> Boy obsessed, he fell first
> Boy obsessed, he fell first
Ophelia and her family are back after their last dangerous journey trying to mend the world and find peace, and in this book Ophelia is faced with a new challenge and she gets to learn more about her past, present and future and what it holds for her. Which is one thing I really love about this series, how it brings together multiple timelines and pov;s in a way that, JUST MAKES SENSE. This book took me by storm and I fell in love with it all over again, its so so beautifully written and some of the sentensens in this book left me stunned and I needed to put down the book to not cry/scream/laugh my ass off/smile so big me cheeks would hurt. Nicole truly have a way with words and storytelling.
Some endings weren’t meant to be happy.
There is so much I want to say about this book, but it’s also one that you just deserve to read without any spoilers. I felt so many emotions reading it, and I’m just so attached to this story.
Generally, I don’t relate to Ophelia (as much as I wish I did), in that I’m not a badass, headstrong warrior leader. But I rarely feel as *seen* as I do reading Ophelia’s experiences in this book—her desperate attempt to pick up the pieces of her life and fit them back together, and the slow recognition that she can’t heal and move forward without letting them break. Without giving anything away, there is so much in this book that I see in my own life and love story.
I continue to love this cast of characters — they’re flawed and chaotic and so lovable. I love Ophelia so much, even when she drives me absolutely mad; she reminds me so much of Aelin in Throne of Glass. Tolek had already cemented his role as a god-tier book boyfriend for me in book 1, and I was STILL not prepared for him in TSOO. I’m so impressed with the writing of Malakai, a character whom (tbh) I could not stand in the early chapters but actively rooted for by the end. I can’t wait for more of Cyph and Rina. And, I want to know SO BADLY what is up with Jezelia… what is her secret?!
Things I loved about this book:
✔️ Tolek, as always.
✔️ The found family—and the born (?) family! The father-daughter relationship had me tearing up at multiple points, and the banter gives me life.
✔️ One horse + one bed tropes… in one chapter!
✔️ The best romances can never be complete without a *stellar* dancing scene.
✔️ The “touch him and die” vibes are STRONG in this one.
✔️ OH MY GOD that ending.
HUGE thanks to the author for an ARC. This series is an absolute must-read for fantasy & romantasy lovers.

Excuse me? THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING.
From the beginning I was wrapped up into this story. I enjoyed book one, and this blew it out of the water. I am officially attached to these characters, the plot and everything else in-between.
I loooove that it was dual POV. There’s a lot of complex emotions and hard choices to make. It all tore at my heart and made me ache. I love how this was written though. It felt real, with flawed characters doing their best, trying to take that next step forward and realizing what things you have to let go.
The romance picked up in ways I had been hoping for and I am HERE FOR IT. I love this found family and the new people that are being taken into the group. The other subtle relationships that may be popping up. The intensity at which I hate the antagonists. How the plot moves through fast and quiet times seamlessly. THE ANGST AT WHICH THIS ROMANCE BRINGS ME TO MY KNEES.
It’s all here, it’s all fantastic. Time to read this series.
Overall audience notes:
- Fantasy Romance
- Language: a little strong
- Romance: 1-2 open – low/moderate explicit
- Violence: high
- Trigger/Content Warnings: loss of life, near death experiences, torture, physical and magical altercations, battle themes
