"He was woven into my life, my being, nestled between my bones. My infinite tether."

The Shards of Ophelia picks right up from where The Curse of Ophelia left off. Now, I don't want to post any spoilers but I am here because I want to try my best to convince you to pick up book 2.

Book 1 introduced us to the most amazing characters and in book 2 you continue on in their journey. Nicole put me through so many emotions in this book: pain, anger, laughter, giddiness, you name it. It prodded at old emotions from my past (in the best way possible). I legit cried. If you read book 1 and was punching the air for some answers, well good news, there are answers in book 2 but she will hit you again with that ENDING. You will also likely sell a limb for book 3.

So yes, I legit cried, but don't let my crying fool you, yes there's romance, but there was a lot of action, politics, high stakes at its finest and I was BLOWN. AWAY. The plot of this story took on a whole new level and I am so excited for what's to come in book 3. And if you were a little annoyed with Ophelia in book 1, well, ha, she completely wins your heart. Let the girl heal and grieve and she will show you how powerful she is because after this, I don't think you wanna mess with the bitch (respectfully). TSOO went beyond my expectations and if you follow me on instagram, you know I talk about this series a lot. It's my new comfort read.

You also have your favorite tropes: found family (that reminds me of ACOMAF), one bed, one horse (YUP), "touch HIM and you die", SLOW BURN (my absolute fave), and perfectly executed friends to lovers. And not to mention, we have dual POV between the two MCs. The dual POVs helped so much when it came to the relationships in this book and f*cking spirits, I will die on this hill that dual POVs are so needed in Fantasy Romance books. So thank you for this Nicole!

Lastly, the writing. It's fcking beautiful. I had found myself highlighting descriptions of places because Nicole just paints it all in my head like I'm watching a damn movie. "Dusk faded into a calm violet sky, the full moon rising to bathe us with its promising glow as we descended the winding walkway leading from our home" LIKE C'MON NOW SERIOUSLY?

It's been 8 days since I've finished TSOO and I am still thinking about it. I am not good at finding the right words to express my feelings so just read the damn series I promise you it's worth it. The ending will leave you screaming and I'm basically fighting with Nicole because HOW COULD SHE. (love you lmao)

I am thankful I received and e-arc so put this on your calendars! TSOO releases August 22!!!

I’m so happy I continued with this series. It felt a lot more fleshed out than the first one and I actively wanted to keep reading to find out what happened and felt connected to our main characters.

I really would have liked to have read about what happened during the first Rapture that she goes into at the end of the first book as it sounds like a lot happened or there was a lot said but we never really get to experience that and see some people’s thoughts before they make certain decisions.

I saw the switch up coming from a mile off but was still kicking my feet when it happened because I definitely prefer them together over Ophelia and Malakai. But I also like hearing more about Jezebel and explains more about what she’s went through and why she was how she was in Curse of Ophelia.

I’m really looking forward to reading on with the series. It’s set up for such a good pay off and I’m really intrigued about what’s going to happen with our Angels too because there’s so much we need to learn about them!!

Oh my! What a ride!

Since I’ve loved the first book of this instalment, The Curse of Ophelia –(if you have not read it yet, what are you waiting for??) I’ve been patiently waiting for its sequel and well, it did not disappoint!

All my favorite people came back even stronger than before. I loved seeing Ophelia’s growth and the unwavering support and love that all her friends have for her. This time the book features different POVs, which I was a bit wary of at first, but we can really have a better understanding of the story from new eyes.

Nicole Platania’s writing is so good, I’m still very surprised that this is her first series, the pace is captivating, I literally couldn’t put my book down, and the action! and emotional growth !! perfect union of fantasy and romance which in my opinion are balanced and so well executed.

I can promise you’ll fall in love with Gallantia and all its characters. You’ll see lots of new entries– which personally I can’t wait to know more about, as well as our beloved friends all under a new light;

I’ll probably come back and update this review when the book comes out (so I can spill a bit of the tea

Ophelia and her friends and family simply cannot get one moment of peace! This whole book was Sad H0rny™️ personified, and I loved it. There’s so much angst and mystery with a healthy dose of secrets on top.

Damien continues to be a menace, Kakias is still on her bullshit, and the clan representatives are doing the absolute most! Honestly, I’d have popped off harder if I was Ophelia. I’m proud of her restraint.

I truly do not know what to expect in the next book bc WHEW I was not ready for most of what happened in this one, but I can’t wait to find out!
