I took a quick glance at some of the other reviews as I went to add this volume and was kinda shocked to see so many "meh" comments about it! I actually really had a blast reading this: the writing felt true to the characters and was quippy without being annoying, the artwork was vibrant and expressive, and the plot was a delightful time-travel-y ride! I LOVED getting to see Melaka again; I read "Fray" for the first time last year and thought it was fantastic. Maybe I'm a bit biased because I'm a sucker for time-travel play (and centaurs tbh), but truly "Time of Your Life" is my favorite volume in Season 8 so far.

Still confused but I love Dawn as a centaur. Also, I really don't like the Fray language. /sigh/
Things are moving along though!

Okay, even on my second reading this installment was a little bit confusing and it took me quite a while to figure out what was going on. I do like the idea behind the story, though, and I enjoyed it once I had puzzled it all out. It's interesting to see how the future possibly plays out, and I'm wondering if we'll ever see more glimpses of this future.

I was a bit confused, since I've never read the Fray series, but I still enjoyed seeing Buffy in the future. Dark Willow making an appearance was also awesome, but I was left wondering what lead to her going “Dark” again. The main storyline is a bit hard to believe when comparing it to the television series. As much as I try to vision it, I just cant see Dawn ever being a centaur if the show had continued into season eight, but that doesn’t mean the graphic novels are less entertaining. They still capture their personalities so well, especially Xander’s and they still make me have an intense dislike for Kennedy. My favorite issue in Vol. 4 would have to be the final story involving Buffy having a dream sequence of her being back in high school. The issue felt so much like the show, with all the core Scoobies in their first season form and it made up for the bit of confusion of the main storyline. I will absolutely continue the series.
