I honestly almost DNF’d this because I disliked Elias THAT MUCH. Thankfully, I stuck with it and his character redeemed himself big time!

This book was like a Hallmark movie with some spice, since Hallmark movies don't ever reference and bedroom activities. Mild spice in the book though, nothing super detailed or explicit.

I was in the mood for a holiday romance with a good plot and this book delivered! I enjoyed that this story had the male character being the one who needed to leave the big city life to find himself in a small town.

Both characters had a lot to work through together to find healing and find what they really wanted.

My only real issue was towards the ending. I felt the relationships were very rushed, especially since one set of characters only knew each other less than a month, and the other set had just reconnected. That always is a big nope for me. Hopefully the author doesn't do that in the other books in this series because I would like to read more of them the next time I'm looking for a romance plot line.

Other than that, the only other thing I didn't like was the town name. Tilikilum is an awful name, and sounds like something lewd you would say. 😅

Love. Love. Love. I love this author. I love this series. Modern romances with believable storylines. Well-written subplot throughout the series. I can't wait for the other side of (books) brothers in the feud. This one makes me want to do a reread of the whole series.

If you want a book full of proposals and babies this is for you (Seriously three proposals in the last 25% of this book). The majority of this book is fun and predictable but there is one part that shocked me and just made me sad. In one of the flashback chapter we find out
Isabelle and Elias had a miscarriage when they were seniors in high school
and it was just way darker then I thought this fluffy book was going to get. I should have checked the content warning but I am putting my warning out there just in case it helps someone be prepared.
