4 stars - It was really good

When Pippa finds herself in Fairhaven Falls with empty pockets and a new baby, she is thrilled when a sweet old lady offers her a job and a place to live. Her new home isn’t much but with the help of her grumpy neighbor it will be livable in no time.

I really loved Pippa and Trogar’s story. I was curious about Trogar after he was introduced in Fireworks for My Dragon Boss and loved that we finally got to know why he is a recluse. Trogar was a sweet, shy, and protective orc who initially was grumpy about having a neighbor but quickly changes his tune when he realizes that Pippa is running from something and needs help. He understands her situation and helps her out around the house while trying not to take all her control away, which was great to see. I really loved that Trogar respected Pippa's concerns about being taken care of and moved their relationship at her pace.

Pippa and Trogar’s relationship is a sweet one that builds over time as they fix the house and get over each of their fears. It was extremely sweet and cute from the very beginning and I liked that the stress at the end wasn’t drawn out. Also, Trogar was so sweet with baby Daisy from the beginning, even when he had no clue what he was doing.

Overall, this was a really enjoyable single mom and neighbors romance. I really am enjoying the Fairhaven Falls books and all of Flora’s matchmaking. I can’t wait to read more.

This was such a cute story. Pippa is a down on her luck single mum and Trogar is her new grumpy orc neighbour.
With the help of his meddling Gran Flora, Pippa and Trogar are forced together and are so adorable together! And Trogar with her daughter Daisy is so precious, she has him wrapped around her finger from the start. Their story is sweet, funny, a little spicy. I couldn’t get enough and can’t wait to read more from this series.

Very average. Very sweet. Cosy small town at Halloween vibes.

Contains not quite breastfeeding kink, but rather a breastfeeding mother who has a sex life. I appreciate that.

Things I liked:
  • It was so fun to see Tragar interact with Daisy like learning about diaper changes and worrying about her all the time. He was adorable.
  • Trogar was really the star of the show. He was so precious. I loved seeing him happy and in love.
Things I didn’t like:
  • Can’t think of anything!

This was an adorable romance! And can I say that I love all of the characters of Fairhaven Falls. This one is kind of a slow burn and ugh, who doesn't love Trogar the grumpy orc? His evolving relationship with Pippa is so sweet and how quickly he latches onto her baby, Daisy, just makes your heart melt. They also have their funny moments too. Definitely a sweet, romantic, quick read.
