It was cute but reading the first few where really cute and sweet but after more it felt like every single one was a second chance romance, they kissed at 13 and he ran away and they saw each other and was reminded how much they liked each other because he was worried about his feelings, they kissed a year ago and when one of them said ‘I’m sorry’ the other thought they meant ‘I’m sorry I didn’t confess sooner’ and avoided them for a year until they saw each other and was reminded how much they liked each other because they where worried about their feelings, seem familiar? It felt like that the whole book. I really did enjoy mason and Ava’s story and Kaz’s story and Stevie & Sola but the others felt so repetitive and I was really pushing myself to finish this and counting the pages down rather then hoping it would last down and wanting a conclusion rather then wanting it to just end already. I really do have to admire how all the stories and entertained, how you start to see from the other stories how they are all related, how the guy who slashed Kaz’s tires helped Jordyn rewire their car and even made a comment about someone stealing their parking spot and “taking care of that” I found that funny and it felt like such a small cute world but I just wasn’t really in love with it but if you like really sweet second chance romances you might like this. Also I did not expect this book to be almost 300 pages I thought it was max 200 but I guess I was a little tricked by how small the book appears.

It was cheesy as all get-out; but that’s kind of the point, so I can’t really complain about that. I loved how interconnected all of the characters were, and all of the relationships felt real, and deep, and fleshed out despite having short-page times. While the friends-to-lover trope is always one of my favorites, it did seem a bit overused. However, it did make sense and was justified in the context of the book. Overall, I liked it a lot more than I thought I would, as cheesy romance is not usually my go-to, but it still wasn’t jaw-dropping incredible or anything.
Some other highlights (in my opinion):
1) The balance between queer and non-queer stories.
2) Since all of the individual stories were connected by a single plot point, the book was engaging and captivating to read despite being split into short story-esque chunks.
It obviously reminded me a lot of Blackout (by the same authors), but also Fools In Love and Serendipity, which are also collections of romance stories by a plethora of authors.

i loved how everything tied together, buuut i did like blackout more bc it was like different stories about different things that at the end were shown to be linked, whereas this one was like, you knew they were all linked, so there was less suspense? ig about the ending. also idk if this is a spoiler, but some of the characters, even the protagonist, stevie weren't that well developed. or, maybe they were and i wasn't aware of it but some of the things she says come out of left field.
Spoiler
i suppose you were supposed to know that stevie and her gf got together but i wish it was a bit more all in the air until the end bc i kinda felt like ik the ending and wasn't investedshine_books1's review against another edition
