It’s all very “I’m 14 and this is deep”. The writing feels childish and pretentious at the same time. I tried over and over but I can’t deal with it.

This book took the current world climate in many different aspects of our real life. Censorship, shady politics, the justice system, fake news, climate denial, nuclear war, you know the usual. And then shot it up to a dystopian future. On top of all that we have decent characters arch’s and a slow burn that was slightly confusing as to how it began but enjoyable nonetheless.
It was enjoyable with some lovely prose but it has some pacing issues and I did find it reminding me of a few other books a bit too much at times.
As like my last read, this is the debut novel for this author so again perhaps something to be said for honing once’s craft. I will read the next one because I gotta know!
But honestly it is giving early 2000s dystopian girlie vibes and that was my whole book personality for a while there so go off you badass girlie
