Love transcends space and time. It holds no bounds or limits. Dear girl, love is stronger than death because if you love someone, they can never truly die
“Sweet girl, the purpose is about life.” Winnie raised her hands in emphasis. “These books aren’t meant to train or give a history lesson. They are meant to stir the mind and the soul. To immerse you in the wonders and hardships of love, the most powerful force in the universe”
^^ Two of my favourite quotes throughout this book.
I smiled, I giggled, I swooned, I raged and I cried. Hit me with ALL the feels. I loved this book and cannot wait to dive into the second.

3.5/5 ⭐️
I always find it unrealistic in books like this where the brooding mean love interest just naturally starts caring abt the fmc with little to no interactions, especially when this is a prison with hundreds of people in it… but I cant say that I hated it. this book was very tropey but the build up was really good and honestly I enjoyed how unapologetically cringe it was at some points. will I be reading the next book? who knows

Talk about slow burn 🥵🪭 This was a post apocalyptic in the best way! If does end on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see where it ends up.
The MCs are interesting and somehow managed to find themselves and their humanity while imprisoned in hell. This book was another reminder that idealized societies are generally just a pretty facade and the reality is often cruel.

Five fucking stars. I have yet to read an adult dystopian/science fiction romance novel and this absolutely blew me away. It reminded me a lot of The 100 with the plot but in the best way. The slow burn enemies to lovers between guard and prisoner was everything I wanted and more out of this book. If you are looking for spice it is a 0.25/5 🌶️ but the build up is SO good. Takeshi has me wrapped around his finger, so much so that I am immediately reading the next book.
“We were never worlds apart. If we were, you wouldn’t be everywhere inside of me. When I look at you, my chest feels like it’s about to crack open, and all the emotions I’ve beaten down to submission come roaring back with a fucking vengeance. For every scar visible on your body, I have to prevent myself from seeking out your assailants and slashing each one of their throats. I’ve watched you fight through every battle, despite the trials and tragedies you’ve faced, and it never ceases to astound me.”
