This book is a profound reflection of the society we live in, that of we are developing on, and the situation we can run into if we do nothing and stay motionless.

Smart book(unfortunately I am not that smart to grasp every detail of the book) I have probably heard something about the concept To Have or To Be. However, I never looked into it as deep as the book goes into, it is rather intriguing. Also in the end of the book there is a bibliography recommend by the author.

Dated. Not exactly clear when this was written, but Mr. Fromm died in 1980. Interested in reading more on humanism.

The commentary regarding unhappiness of isolation, the emptiness of "community", and meaninglessness in life still ring true. The empty life of consumption. Having much does not create well-being.

We need to find a new unity with humanity and nature.
