I liked the Alaska setting, and interesting to have the male POV for a change, but I never got very invested in the romance part. and WHY ELSE am I reading it?

Chapter 2 felt like being oriented of a simulation game setting; Mayor Hopp presenting the entire community and the buildings in it. Also, where to find and which are available as certain basic necessities and what else Lunacy can offer. A touch of an adventure in chapter eight. That’s favorable for us readers.

I’ve only read this one book of Miss Nora Roberts but this had me deeming her as the female version of Mr. Nicholas Sparks but with a twist of suspense and thriller in her genres. I could see why this is more than 600 pages in paperback, because Lunacy, Alaska is being introduced in detail here, so are its people or rather citizens. Also commending how the author gave more than ample descriptions of the occasional yet relevant (to the character’s present and past life mishaps’) dreams of the leading characters. That’s another of the causes for this lengthy final copy thus making me wish for an audiobook version. In almost every change of paragraphs is somewhat a change of point of view also. I am not used to that; it resulted to a confused me.

“Anytime, man. Seriously, thanks for saving my life.” “Take better care of it.”

“Women, Nate thought, were tougher and more resilient than any man he knew. Including himself.”

Sans surprise, c'est du Nora Roberts, c'est agréable, divertissant, c'est plein de suspense et on sait que ça finira bien pour les gentils.

I decided to read the series after watching the BBC adaptation of book 1. I regret not having read the books when I was younger, but I really enjoyed reading the first one! The characters are interesting and built up well throughout the book, particularly mrs courson and Lord Asrail and I like the similarities their world has to ours. The concept of daemons is quite interesting, it made me want one but it also helped understand each character a little bit more. Overall I really enjoyed and am looking forward to ready the subtle knife.

This book is extremely annoying. Between the characters being so bluntly cliche and the language so hilariously funny, the actual plot of the book is extremely frustrating. Nothing has anything to do with anything and while the book is written like a form of murder mystery, inviting the reader to solve the crime with the main characters, the end result is impossible to figure out with what we was given in form of evidence. I do however give this a two star since I had a lot of fun reading it - not with the book but at it.

Good, but sooooo sloooooow. I think it took me about 6 months to finish.

I am not typically a big fan of Nora Roberts but this book was excellent. It takes place in Lunacy Alaska! Enough said.

Enjoyable. Especially the references to alaska. Listened.
