I like superhero comics but there's so many that it's hard to keep track of all of them. So, when I want to read something, I don't know what to read. This was a recommendation from a friend especially to people who weren't fans of the typical superhero comics. He was spot on, I was completely hooked by the story, and after reading it again a few years later, I liked it even more.
In a world where Superman only exist in comic books, this comic centers in four stages of the live of a boy named Clark Kent (his parents thought it would be funny) that one day discovers he has powers like Superman.

It's a really compelling story with really beautiful drawings. I liked so much that I was really sorry to see it end.

A cool AU take on the Superman mythology. Clark Kent’s parents named him “Clark Kent” for the LOLs, and now he’s a teenager and really sick of being made fun of for sharing a moniker with a fictional superhero. But then he discovers he actually has Supes’ powers.

In this ’verse, Clark has to keep things even more on the DL, and the resulting story is much more understated. It follows Clark through four stages of his life: discovering his powers as a teenager, meeting and falling in love with a beautiful Indian woman named Lois, having kids, and watching his kids grow up and discover powers of their own. The emphasis on Clark’s personal relationships—his human connections—is really the focus in ways it doesn’t tend to be (from what I’ve seen) for regular Justice League!Superman. The message isn’t always as subtly told as I’d like, but in general, this is a quiet, lovely reflection on identity, secret and otherwise.

This is a comic about comics about superheroes for fans of superhero comics. It made me a little misty eyed towards the end, I can't lie.

I thought in beginning this is going to okay, but this is such wholesome story, ending was so beautiful.

I think the art is at the start really tedious but the art picks up pace and gets better with every issue, still not my fav artstyle but it stops being annoying. The story set up is kinda eh, but I like that the 4 issues try to conclude in their own way, a way how superman could have lived his life with his own happy ending.

It’s not my series at all, but with every issue more I kinda understood the appeal, not from the set up but from the writing perspective. It’s was a fast read for me too. I got through it easily even tho it has a lot of chunks when it comes to words.

Is it an overall good thing? I think. Would I recommend it to superman fans? Sure. I would, even when I think this comic is not really made for me. I think there are people out there who would appreciate it.

Thoughtful and thought provoking. A different way of looking at superheroes. Well executed.

Probably my second favorite superman story of all time, after the Death of Superman arc. Superman, incidentally, appears only as a fictional character in this story of a "real" person who acquires superman's powers and goes about making a name for himself and winning over the girl of his dreams. An awesome story for any comic book nerd who just wished life was a little bit more interesting...
