Absolutely devoured and loved this story of Ella and Aaron. So many twists and turns that I honestly never saw coming which I loved - who doesn't like a book that keeps them on their toes and guessing?! I am itching for Book 2 to find out what happens next, and that is when you know it's worth reading. Crazy good book, highly recommend that everyone who loves genres like this to read it!

This book was really great and full of twists. Some I could see coming and some that had me jaw dropping. It took me a few chapters to get into the story but once I was in I was there for the whole drive and I need more!! I loved we got two time line, and in each one we are waiting for Aaron and Ella to get together. But to make things harder, secrets, lies are wrapped around them. The past is barely enough to grasp he secrets of the present. And the bomb twist at the end led us to a bitter cliffhanger.

Okay ma’am… Isabella Phoenix I see you!!! You comin in hot with The Lie That Binds Us…. Ella and Aaron are everything!!! Be prepared for the emotional roller coaster ride of your freaking life. There are so many twists and turns in this story that there is no way you can see what is coming next. I love this!!! I love not being able to figure out what is coming and then BA< getting smacked in the face and shook to my core. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and you are instantly pulled into the story from page one. Plan on not doing anything for the rest of the day because there is no way you will be able to put this book down. I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on book two. This is a MUST READ!

The intensity level in this book is perfection.

I read this in a day because I couldn’t put it down. It was that good!

We are told this story mostly from Eleanor’s perspective, through current and past timelines, as we learn about her life and her circumstances. Her present knows her as Nora, but he past knows her as Elle, a carefree, fun loving teenager who fell in with a group of beautiful boys who became her whole world. But none more than Aaron, who stole her heart. But after years of friendship, her boys left her, heartbroken and with some secrets she plans to take to the grave…

Now, in the present, she is dating a guy who helped put all her broken pieces back together. But it still isn’t enough. She is still that same girl on the inside, trying to break free of her calm and shinier surface.

When Aaron crashes back into her life, everything changes. What she thought she knew, she realizes, she never did - and the things she never understood are brought into striking clarity. One thing is for sure, her boys are back in her life and that life is turned upside down. But she never ever really forgot about all those feelings for Aaron and with him so close again, it’s hard to stay away. Even if she is already committed to someone else.

This book is dark and suspenseful. You will be questioning things at every turn. Just belt yourself in and enjoy the ride!

Original review

This book was provided by the author through Wildfire Marketing Solutions in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Isabella Phoenix and Wildfire Marketing Solutions!

The Lie that Binds us is the first book in the Broken Truths series and tells the story of Ella and Aaron.

The Lie that Binds us is the first book I’ve read by Isabella Phoenix, so I didn’t know what to expect. I read the synopsis and the story sounded really interesting. I was also under the impression that The Lie that Binds us was going to be a standalone, so I was really surprised when it ended with a cliffhanger. I really enjoyed reading The Lie that Binds us, the book was fast paced and I really wanted to know how to story was going to end.

As I mentioned above, I didn’t know what to expect from this book. The synopsis is a bit vague if you compare it to the book itself. It makes you wonder what’s going to happen to Ella and Aaron. I really liked getting to know Ella and seeing her change towards the end of the book. And Aaron… I immediately liked him. He’s so good for Ella even if he shows it in a special way.

The Lie that Binds us was such a good book and I’m really looking forward to the next book, The Truth which Finds us! I want to end my review with a note that this book talks about an attempted rape (there’s no trigger warning at the beginning of the end of the book). So please be aware of this before you start reading The Lie that Binds us. But if you are able to read about such a topic, then I really recommend this book if you’re looking for an ‘interesting’ Romance read!

This is the first book that I've read by Isabella Phoenix so I'm not really familiar with her writing style. Surprisingly, I enjoyed this book way more than I have expected. This book was able to capture my fullest attention from the beginning till the end and I absolutely loved it! The entire story is pretty intense filled with suspense & angst that got me at the edge of my seat. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I can't wait for the next book. I really recommend for everyone to try out this story. You surely don't want to miss this!
