I read this in a day because I couldn’t put it down. It was that good!
We are told this story mostly from Eleanor’s perspective, through current and past timelines, as we learn about her life and her circumstances. Her present knows her as Nora, but he past knows her as Elle, a carefree, fun loving teenager who fell in with a group of beautiful boys who became her whole world. But none more than Aaron, who stole her heart. But after years of friendship, her boys left her, heartbroken and with some secrets she plans to take to the grave…
Now, in the present, she is dating a guy who helped put all her broken pieces back together. But it still isn’t enough. She is still that same girl on the inside, trying to break free of her calm and shinier surface.
When Aaron crashes back into her life, everything changes. What she thought she knew, she realizes, she never did - and the things she never understood are brought into striking clarity. One thing is for sure, her boys are back in her life and that life is turned upside down. But she never ever really forgot about all those feelings for Aaron and with him so close again, it’s hard to stay away. Even if she is already committed to someone else.
This book is dark and suspenseful. You will be questioning things at every turn. Just belt yourself in and enjoy the ride!

This book was provided by the author through Wildfire Marketing Solutions in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Isabella Phoenix and Wildfire Marketing Solutions!
The Lie that Binds us is the first book in the Broken Truths series and tells the story of Ella and Aaron.
The Lie that Binds us is the first book I’ve read by Isabella Phoenix, so I didn’t know what to expect. I read the synopsis and the story sounded really interesting. I was also under the impression that The Lie that Binds us was going to be a standalone, so I was really surprised when it ended with a cliffhanger. I really enjoyed reading The Lie that Binds us, the book was fast paced and I really wanted to know how to story was going to end.
As I mentioned above, I didn’t know what to expect from this book. The synopsis is a bit vague if you compare it to the book itself. It makes you wonder what’s going to happen to Ella and Aaron. I really liked getting to know Ella and seeing her change towards the end of the book. And Aaron… I immediately liked him. He’s so good for Ella even if he shows it in a special way.
The Lie that Binds us was such a good book and I’m really looking forward to the next book, The Truth which Finds us! I want to end my review with a note that this book talks about an attempted rape (there’s no trigger warning at the beginning of the end of the book). So please be aware of this before you start reading The Lie that Binds us. But if you are able to read about such a topic, then I really recommend this book if you’re looking for an ‘interesting’ Romance read!
