Second review (from June 3rd, 2023)
Re-read almost a year later, and it's still a banger. I love how relatable Ruth is (I definitely need to check out more romance books with autistic main characters because I love this feeling).

Maybe I'm just unnecessarily petty, but why do the models on the cover look nothing like the descriptions? (where are the tattoos? the beard? the hairstyle doesn't match either).

Talia is the only person I trust to write fictional men.
Actually, scrach that. She's the only person I trust to write ANYTHING.

I had a specific romance itch and pulled this book from a rec list, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. Not a bad read though.

Ruth is ostraciszed and isolated after town-fave Daniel screws her over for like 7 years. Enter Evan, new neighbor, who falls for Ruth and helps her out of her rut.

This is exactly what a romance novel should be - uplifting, easy to read, sweet, spicy, and makes its audience feel like they're in the romance too. Talia Hibbert simply never disappoints, and she writes autistic MCs so well.

Talia Hibbert really knows how to write amazing complex and relatable characters!

Talia Hibbert’s writing never fails to be witty and relatable. I loved Ruth and Evan. Ruth was so relatable, especially with her comic book obsession. Evan was absolutely charming and is totally head over heals for Ruth. I really liked the mysterious aspect of Ruth’s backstory. Rather than giving all the details at a time, Hibbert slowly releases tiny tidbits. It made it feel like you the reader were part of the Ravenswood rumor mill.
