2020 is the year I’ve discovered my deep love for romances featuring autistic main characters, A Girl Like Her was a wonderful example of a romance featuring a neurodivergent main character that didn’t read like a poorly developed caricature. Ruth wasn’t my favorite character of all time but I loved Evan and their relationship.

I loved Hibbert’s Brown Sisters series, so I was excited to check out this series! This one has a slightly different feel to me than the Brown Sisters, but equally as enjoyable. A couple major CW for this books is intimate partner violence, ableism, loss of parent to illness.
The small town setting of this book made for some really interesting dynamics and plot points in the story. The pacing was great and kept me throughly invested the entire way through! All of the characters in this story felt so real and well built. I loved Ruth, she was a wonderful, nerdy, badass, and Evan, who was so soft and caring.

Don’t know why I waited so long to read Talia Hibbert but after ravs in various romancelandia FB groups I finally gave in and love her! I think she’s going to be an automatic one-click for me!
Evan was the perfect beta hero who reined in his alpha tendencies because he recognized that Ruth could stand up for herself in a pivotal scene when she confronted her past.
This was such a pleasure and I’m looking forward to binge-reading the entire Ravenswood series.

I love pretty much anything Talia Hibbert writes so of course I enjoyed this. The writing was good, the characters were interesting, and I loved how they slowly grew to become friends before more. I also loved how Evan stood up for Ruth and generally his cinnamon-rolliness. This was also definitely a slow burn.
Overall a quick cute novella read.
