I enjoyed the story and what I liked best was the H/h as they were both real. I plan to check out more books by this author.

I enjoyed this story. There was nothing wrong with it per say. It's just that, I could not connect with either of the characters and could not understand their motivation behind their actions most of the time.
Also, certain things in the book felt unfinished to me too. For example, Evan was haunted by what happened to his mother. He would have bad days because of it where he would not be able to even function properly. But I didn't feel like we got any closure to that. It just disappeared.
Also, I did not understand why he would fall for Ruth. I mean, what did she do for him? Did I miss something?
I don't know. It was just okay. But I will continue the series because the writing style was beautiful and I think that's what kept me reading this book in the first place.

I really didn't like this. First of all, this was way too insta-lovey for me and the two main characters had no chemistry. Also, this book was just so fucking cheesy and all the characters were one dimensional, even the two main ones.
Evan was supposed to be this perfect guy and I just found him unrealistic and even weird. No one is like that in reality, he had no flaws and just seemed very fake to me. He was super into her asap and just wanted to feed her like wtf that's weird. Also he growls a lot which is supposed go be sexy I guess? It's really not.
Ruth was just oddly written. She was shy and insecure and awkward but then when it came to sex all that went away. She actually said 'I'm not shy.' and So was she supposed to be shy or not? I'm confused. Seems kinda contradictory.
Also, I'm not a fan of explicit sex, especially if the characters act like different characters during it. However, if I like the rest of the book, I can get over it if it's not TOO ridiculous, but honestly, cringe sex scenes hinder my enjoyment of a book and I thought the sex was cringe. And I get it, you know, consent and etc., but this dude asked for consent every 30 seconds like come on. Oh and ofc this guy has the biggest dick in town cause why would a guy just have a normal dick? Sigh.
Where was the plot? After about 60% of the book nothing really happened except for sex. Not much happened before that anyway but still...2 stars cause of the idea of the book and characters, but the execution was pretty bad. Disappointing.
Actually, I just can't give this 2 stars, just too shitty.
