I found the format very helpful, breaking down the concepts and then showing their application to business. The material presented for leadership skills was broken down into easy to understand steps. This is a book I will be revisiting again.
In the middle of re-reading this for the 2nd time after a few years. Definitely picking up on more details and having a retrospective of how I've been applying the concepts on the 2nd read through. One of those books that you should re-read and think about every few years.

This book gives you exactly what it says it will, leadership principles gleaned from military leaders with applications to business.
I'm not a business person, and I'm not in a managerial leadership role, so to speak. But I found a lot to glean about character and responsibility. Leaders keep the mission in mind and they accomplish it by taking ownership, particularly in weaknesses and failures. This isn't an easy thing, but it breeds humility and growth to help you lead better. This isn't just for the higher-ups, but also for the middleman/woman communicating up and down the chain of command. If our organizations promoted these principles, we'd likely work together a lot better.

Have you ever enjoyed the company of someone whos always right? If so you’ll love this book.
Having enjoyed the author’s podcast I eagerly read this book hoping to learn some more, what I got was generic chapters about Iraq where he’s right and everyone else is wrong to scenarios which are clearly false where he’s right and everyone else is wrong, completely gone off the author after this book and his views that a manager who micro manages you just cares and it’s your fault.

This book provides valuable insight into leadership and attitude for succcess in military context applied to a business environment. The book spurred thought and self reflection. On the downside, much of this book was redundant in ways as thought each chapter was written as an independent guide without consideration to the interconnection when reading all the chapters in rapid succession. 3 stars with definite value.
