I timed reading Oscar Mike perfectly. I had just finished a depressing historical fiction. I needed something to lift me up. Thank you Verlene Landon. You were just what my mental state was asking for.
This is a second chance romance and so much more. Rob, Jeff and Cassie were high school best friends. A trio that became awkward when Jeff and Cassie married and Rob was left to love Cassie from afar. Turns out Jeff was loving Rob from afar and finally made moves the night before a mission that will turn tragic.
Cassie isn't dealing. Grief is eating her away but Rob is there to support even as she ignores him. Confrontation is required. Honesty is necessary. The question is how will Cassie react.

This was a great teaser and intro to Rob and Cassie where we see where they began and what they went through before ending up well where they will. For a short book it has loads packed into it and as any good book should it leaves you wanting to know what happens to Rob and Cassie next especially with the ending and are they are aren't they!!

This was my first VL read
But it won’t be my last. This was a wonderful tale of love lost and an unsuspected love found. I can’t wait to read the full length novel.

Just one more story that I love by Verlene. She’s knocked it out of the park again. If you haven’t read anything by her...you have to start. She makes you believe that love is out there for anyone to find.
