250 pages of long winded world building, and then 250 pages of finally some fucking good shit is going down.

The end was great; I pulled an all nighter to finish those last two hundred pages. But I still feel like I was missing some sense of relief. Like all of these mysteries had been swirling around in the book together and the finale happened and I got, like, some catharsis. I didn't get the crazy "Aha" moment I felt owed. This was a gripe I also had with the first book, Gideon the Ninth. The relationships between characters are the best bits, and the plot twists are just okay.

I am still as obsessed with Harrow and Gideon's relationship as I ever was. And I'm finally engaged with the world building, so I'll definitely be reading the next one at some point.

I really enjoyed this book and love how it adds to the world building we read in the first. But I did find it drawn out too much in the middle.
