I really enjoyed the peek behind the scenes of a woman writer in Hollywood. She acknowledges that she didn’t do enough for women of color and that there is so much progress still to be made. An interesting life for sure!

This book made my little feminist heart happy and reminded me to keep being 'difficult'.

Dazed out a bit at parts and enjoyed others. Especially liked the ending and her work with writing jokes for the president.

Pretty much everything I want in a memoir of this sort. Useful comedy knowledge. Great examples. Genuine feminism and truth-telling. And I kind of want to write her a fan letter. That is all.

Nell Scovell has literally had her hands on everything. I didn't realize how many of the shows I've watched over the years she touched. This is informative, funny, and depressing book sharing the struggles of being a woman in Hollywood.

I hadn’t heard of Nell Scovell before I picked up this book, which somewhat surprising since she’s worked on so many projects I enjoy, and a shame because I’ve missed out on years of being a fan. In her memoir, Nell writes about her path and career but also candidly discusses the sexism in television, particularly in comedy. All the negative reviews of this book (mostly written by men, I notice) only prove her point.
