Whew. I got a little worried toward the end and wasn't sure if I could finish. There were so many plot points to keep up with and I felt like every couple of pages was some sort of mind-boggling plot twist, martyrdom, or marathon between characters racing to the finish before their clock stopped. Ultimately I liked it but I'm glad it's over.

very much satisfied with the ending. i’m gonna miss this series so much.

this book had it’s weaker moments, i really think it could’ve been much shorter and the pacing wasn’t that great.

some POVs (especially at the beginning) were kinda boring. it felt off how i had to read about Aedion’s whiny complains and Chaol and Yrene’s shitty idea to meet his parents while the POVs revolving around Dorian/Manon & Aelin/Fenrys and the “looking for Aelin” team were just so much better?

the reunions, the reveals and the action/battles were absolutely the best parts of that book, i had so much fun there. and i have almost zero complains about the ending, i loved these characters so much and i would absolutely read more of this world.

This is the kind of conclusion you want to and 8-books series.
Almost a thousand pages, and at no point does it seem slow-paced.

This book has a lot of war. It can’t really surprise anyone, but as someone who isn’t the biggest fan of battle-scenes, this book is quite heavy on them. That said, the action is written nice, and you can follow what happening quite well.

The series as a whole deserves the hype it gets! ToG and CoM are a little slow, but from Heir of Fire it takes of, and I’d argue Heir of Fire is only as good as it is because of the ground work and world building laid out in the first 2 books.
I was quite surprised feeling nostalgic for the early books reading Kingdom of Ash. Sooo much has happened to the poor characters!

Over all, a great series, with a final book worthy of all its predecessors!

I love to read fantasy and it had been a long time (almost 15 years) since a book series made me fall in love with it so thoroughly. I have not cried this much over the ending of a series since Harry Potter in 2007.
This was a beautifully written ending to a stunning, complicated, well rounded and overall spectacular set of stories. I cannot wait to start my reread in a couple of months in preparation for the next of SJMs books to come out.
I am so thankful for these characters and their stories. I am thankful that I got to take all of this in the way that I did, it was magical.

Like some of the previous books in this series, this was slow to start. Once I was fully immersed in the story though I flew through it.

All in all, this was a wonderful round-up of a series that had been recommended to me by so many, that has had twists and turns along the way. Good and bad. Surprising and ones I had worked out.

I loved the ending, and it makes me wonder if they really did live out their days as they planned. I cried buckets through the last quarter, which I had been warned about. Emotional isn't the word. Though if you don't get emotionally invested in characters then you might just be okay.

The book rounded up all the plots and didn't leave any gaps. It was a bittersweet ending, but a fantastic one regardless.
