I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. It was the first audiobook I've ever listened to where I stayed up late listening to it. I couldn't put it down! It is such a good read, would definitely recommend the audiobook. I was hooked from the first page and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

I have some mixed feelings on this book that I am not sure how to put into words. On one hand, I really enjoyed the strange mix of bounty-spy(???) and mystery that this book presented. I have never read a book like this before! It was fun to have the element of the mystery boss and never knowing what Evie was going to be getting herself into. On the other hand, upon finishing the book, I still don't really understand the point of the weird bounty aspect. Like I'm not really sure what Evie was ever truly doing for her boss. And she did ever really know either. I would have liked to have that clarified with who this boss truly was and what his motivation was. I give this a 3.5 stars, rounded down for the Goodreads scale.

The build-up is there... but the author doesn't give enough to keep it interesting. Yes - she is a person in hiding. Yes, she chose to live the life of a con artist. The storyline offers potential that I don't think was met. It was a good read though - just not 5 stars in my eyes.
