This book spends a lot of time unpacking privilege, which was cool. What wasn’t cool was Victoria’s failure to truly own some of her more toxic behaviors in earnest. She’s often downright abusive towards Owen, and he’s left to take every shred of blame for mistakes—whether he’s the one responsible or not. After seeing him accept ownership for issues time and time again while she dismissed her own actions as understandable, I grew a bit jaded. She patently refuses to communicate with him, gets upset when he wants to talk things out rather than hook ip, and then blames him fully when she finds out what he wanted to communicate about. She’s just…not ready to be in a healthy relationship, frankly. She raises a lot of valid points about the advantages that Owen’s background provides, but that doesn’t give her license to treat him as poorly as she often does.

trigger warnings: sexual content, age gap relationship, emotionally abusive parents, sexual harassment online

I don't remember a lot about this book. Something about workplace enemies to lovers, something about anonymous twitter friends, something something. The smut was vaguely okay.

Now what I do remember is that the guy's father was married to a girl who graduated from high school WITH HIM (the mc not his dad). IE his dad's a fucking CREEP but the book is like harhar at least he's less of an asshole and learning to be better bc the girl is keeping him in check and forcing him to be a better person. LIKEEEEE You can't be a better person if you're literally a predator bitch doesn't matter if your child bride is fine with it. The fuck. How are people not uneasy dating people the age of their adult children?!?!??!! Anyways. Soured the entire reading experience. It would have been decent if not for that.
