Wow, this book was unlike one I have ever read. Fantasy in a science-fiction setting is definitely the way to put this. The world building, character development, and format of the book was so good. I felt like I read 50 years of someone’s life in 700 pages. But jeezus, the pacing of this book had me wanting to throw my head into the wall. But I can’t say it ruined it, just not what I’m used too. Heard book 2 is even better, super excited to continue

A good start to a series, I’m interested to see where things will go now that the foundation is laid. I like the small foreshadowing throughout. Hadrian did kind of annoy me in the beginning, but seeing his growth was interesting.

Quite a tome. Pretty good story, but as book progressed mc, Hadrian, behaved too immature/inconsistent with the “political machine” that he was described as.
